Event Calendar
Many meaningful events which promote the development of character
Science students are generally busier than liberal arts students because experiments and training are important in the special studies of science. Dental students tend to be even busier because their future professions carry the burden of social duties and obligations.
However, the dentists most in demand are expected to have excellent specialized techniques and pleasant personalities. So simple devotion to study is not the ultimate purpose of life at university. It is important to enhance the personality of every student through study and other opportunities.
Matsumoto Dental University has many events throughout the year, even though students are busy studying. Students deepen relationships with faculty and other students through these events, which also promote enthusiasm in study. We introduce some of our events below.

University Festival
The university festival is called“ Shotosai”. Activities begin on the evening before the actual festival day. There are many events at the festival such as lectures, exhibitions, special study announcements, sales stalls and concerts. The university festival is the most popular event of the year, not only among the university students and the dental hygiene students but also among the administrators and the faculty. Undergraduates and postgraduates help to run a bazaar at the festival; the money raised is donated to various philanthropic projects. The festival provides opportunities for students to mix with residents living near the university.
