Work commencement celebration. Make a fresh resolution

 The ceremony to celebrate the commencement of work for this year was held in the lecture hall of the main building on Tuesday, January 9th. All of the faculty and staff attended. They listened to the speech given by Dr. Yasushi Yagasaki, the chairman of the board of directors of Matsumoto Dental University (MDU), braced up their spirits and promised to exert efforts in their work.

Reception training for fifth-years Learning the basics of reception

 Fifth-year students received reception training from instructors of "ANA Learning" in the Jonendake Room and Mae and Oku Hotakadake Room on the third floor of the 30th Anniversary Building on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd, December. MDU has been working to raise the manners of the faculty, the staff and the students. The faculty and staff already receive training from veteran instructors of ANA's attendants. This year was the first time for the training to be given to the students.

Japanese Association for Dental Science Chairperson's Award

 The Japanese Association for Dental Science held a prize-giving ceremony in the New Dental Practitioners Building in Tokyo on Friday, January 19th. MDU professor, Hidehiro Ozawa, president of the Graduate School of Dental Science and director of the MDU Institute for Oral Science, received the association's Chairperson's Award (research division).
The award was presented to Professor Ozawa for his contribution to the development of dental science and services in Japan through significant achievements in his long-lasting study of fine morphology.

Lecture for students on abiding by the law

 Mr. Kenji Okuhara, former director of Nagano Prefecture Police School, presented a lecture on laws and regulations with relevance to student life on the 7th floor of the lecture hall on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th January. About 600 people, comprising students from the first to the fifth years, the faculty and staff attended. The lecture was for MDU students, faculty and staff to understand the importance of abiding by laws and regulations, especially considering the large number of recent, tragic accidents and crimes caused by irresponsible acts.

208 students sit center tests at MDU

 The National Center for University Entrance Examinations' exams were held on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st, January. A total of 208 students sat the tests in the MDU lecture hall building. Nationwide, 553,352 candidates took the exams. This number was up 0.4% on the previous year - the first increase in four years. In Nagano Prefecture about 10,000 people sat the tests at nine universities in thirteen locations. People were examined in their knowledge of subjects required by the universities and colleges they are interested in.

Medical safety lecture by sharing information of accident-threatening situations

 A lecture in medical safety was given by Mr. Shin Ushiro of the Medical Accident Prevention Center of the Japan Medical Function Assessment Organization. He delivered his lecture, titled "Outline of Project to Gather Medical Accident Information" in classroom 601 on Thursday, December 7th.
